The pearl cage charm is in the shape of a tube, a long rectangle. This is designed for larger pearls, not for pearls less then 5mm.

Charm: The charm is silver plated.  The cage opens up for the buyer to insert a pearl or a small decorative bead or gem.   The cage will hold up to four pearls between 5mm and 7mm. The cage can hold three 9mm pearls. The charm is 13mm x 45mm.

Necklace: The necklace is 18 inches long. You have the option to upgrade to a solid silver necklace in this listing or go with the cheaper silver plated necklace. You also have the option to buy the cage only or cage with one white undrilled pearl.
